i just got one today and i have no idea how to get past level 2. Also with the coleco perma power battery eliminator, do you need to have the 4 c-cell simulators to use one? Also how long do the batteries usually last? Thanks in advance...

Not sure about the batteries, but the goal of stage 2 of Donkey Kong is to run over each of the little rivets that disappear when you pass over them. When you avoid the flames and step over the last rivet, Donkey Kong will drop to the ground. I don't own the Coleco tabletop, but I'm sure it's the same as the arcade version.

Yeah, as for the batteries, you do need the fake C-cells to make it work. One of them would have an attachment to plug into the wire that goes into the wall, and the other 3 just fill the space to make the connection.

Without modifying the game, that's the only way to get AC power into it.

You need all 4, other wise you can't put them in. Each of the 3 fake batteries has a piece of metal that makes contact between them.

Probably not something that's hard to make, but you need something to complete the circuit made by the real batteries...

Unfortunately, I don't... I ended up just installing A/C adapter plugs on the games I play regularly (they just hang out the back, I couldn't bring myself to actually drill holes in the games... Cool ). I only have one set of the battery eliminator (open, that is), and it's kind of a pain to keep moving it from machine to machine...

They pop up on eBay fairly frequently though, and if you watch the descriptions, you may be able to get one included with another game (if you want another game, that is...). That's how I got the one I use, it just came with a game I bought...

I bought some c cell and d cell battery adapters for using smaller batteries in them off eBay a few years ago as I end up with so many AA batteries and quite a few AAA batteries in the items I buy that come with good batteries in them.

The adapters that are c cell sized and use AAA batteries can be used as most have 2 metal contacts (some have one and use one of the AAA battery contacts) while the adapters for AA to c cell use both of the AA battery contacts as a AA and c cell are the same length/height.

If you find the c cell adapters with 2 metal contacts you can just solder a wire between the metal contact connections and you will have your bypass filler c cells.
