Hey Blanka,

I am really sorry that I discovered your project sooo late!

I wish to congratulate on your effort - the samples look very very good, and the photography is of high quality. I truly hope you get it made, I would definitely buy a copy of the finished product.

What I really like is the idea of seeing the guts of every game, including the pcb. Thats truly unique, and I am sure somebody like me who repairs games from time to time will appreciate that too.

Good luck!

I have some pics of internals on my website (but not very high quality for most of them), but I am planning on updating a lot of that with higher resolution pics...

His schematics and the wire-frame drawings are pretty cool though... I've never tried to actually create schematics for any of the games... Cool

Detailed tear-down instructions and the names of certain parts is something else I've wanted to do...

Just created a small video of a game with very nice VFD sprites:

Bandai Kampf der Monster or Go Go Dynaman.

This weekend, a special event is happening in Hilversum the Netherlands. Both on saturday and sunday.
We will bring together:
- 50 original arcade cabs, all on free play, including the holy Computer Space in yellow!
- A lot of consoles
- A lot of handhelds, where I will display and let people play many VFD arcade conversions.
- 3 movies: King of Kong, Wreck it Ralph and the Video Game Years.
- And I will give a lecture on handheld games.
- And if you are interested in Dutch TV, the rest of the permanent exhibition is also open.

Damn it! Way to late for me to attend...

We definitely need a calendar for events like this! To be honest, it is the first time I ever heard of it.

Anyway - good luck!

Picking up the book work again, here is my cut-away drawing of Amidar:

Looks like pixel graphics. Really nice. Look forward to the next round of book funding. I hope this time goes well.

It is actually a vector drawing. Razor sharp. It needs to be output on a 100dpmm imagesetter to be fully appreciated.

It's an amazing project. The photos of the games are slick and do them the utmost respect. I've always anticipated the eventual publication of this book. Take comfort in knowing that because your book is on retro games, anytime is the right time for its release Wink

Thanks for the support. You know, the original Indiegogo release wasn't the best timing. Just got a second kid. Started a new job cause banks are a PITA when self employed and in want of buying a house. Kids grow up and go to school after summer. Now a little spare time returns to our life, and I'm starting up things again. Right now finishing the cutaway drawing of Computer Bowling, after which it will be ready to ship to Australia Wink
