Thanks OTTOgd.
Thanks Rik. Unique handhelds. I do have consoles also, but, I wanted my record to be handhelds so I left them at home.
Plus on the day of the record attempt I let the volunteers and any visitors play the games. I really didn't want to take catridges for the consoles. The cartridges wouldn't count (not a system) towards the record and might cause confusion.
The event was fun. I gave NIB duplicates to all the kids. They seem to have fun, but the adults all seemed to afraid to play. They were afraid they would break something.😥 |

Congrats again! I wish I had known about it, might been worth the trip to see that in person.

I've encountered that when I take my 'play-with' games to events. Adults that aren't into the hobby are sometimes nervous, and even more nervous about their kids... I have to assure them that I don't care if they break anything, otherwise it wouldn't be on the table.
I have a 'junker' Adventurevision that I set up for play at these events, and it seems everyone is afraid to touch it. I got lucky and found it at a flea market for $10, so I tell them that's all I have invested in it, just play the thing!!! |

Thanks Pat. It's been amazing. Losing my husband so unexpectedly (heart attack) has been tough. It almost feels like he organized this distraction just when I needed it most. The story angles people want to pursue is always interesting;.not really things I thought about. I just want to focus on the handhelds, but people always want to bring up Nintendo cartridges. You guys have been with me over the years so you know I only collected those when I couldn't find a handheld to purchase. I don't think I've bought a Nintendo cartridge in the last 10 years...lol. I guess I bought them at the right time. Cool for a second love, but definitely not my first love.
I really want to get handhelds more exposure and let people know how awesome they are. I'm playing them on my YouTube channel now. If anyone has a game request or an idea let me know. I just played Bandai Olympic jumping type, I may play the whole series and post it.
Talking to the camera and sharing the games with others is kind of therapeutic and makes me feel like I'm not so alone. I guess I will keep doing it periodically as I explore this next phase of my life. Please keep me in your prayers.
Regards,
Linda |

I watched the episode but parts of it were erased due to some storm warnings or whatever. Anyway, very cool televised interview. Good fun. Awesome collection. Lisa Whelchel seems really sweet. |

Linda
Just came across the Guinnes World Record video about your collection. It was so nice to put a face to the name after so many years. And seeing your passion and how love you put into this - it is wonderful!
I have left a sincere comment on the video. You are a model for all collectors
PS: read the sad note at the end of the video - sorry I was unaware and I send you a hug from the other side of the world (Australia, that is).
I will now post the video on my Facebook MADrigal's Simulators page. _________________ http://www.madrigaldesign.it/ |
