Has anyone seen one of these before?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300084451734

It's got to be a rip off of Red Line.

I wonder how much it's gameplay differs as I might never own a Red Line Sad

It looks like a cheap LCD game and the CASE is a rip off.

Plus it has exactly the same LED strip as red line and similar Gas/Gear buttons.

I'm almost tempted to bid Embarassed

I have been watching for this game online and in thrift stores for a while, and get this, the other day I found one in St Vinnie's, and another 20 minutes later in Goodwill! For a buck each! Yessss!

And yes, it is very like Redline.

I found the instructions on Hasbro's website: http://hasbro.com/common/instruct/ProDragRacing.PDF

Thanks very much for the information Dan. I'm very keen on it now (until I get a proper one that is Smile )

If you've got a spare one, I'd be happy to take it off your hands Wink

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Neil. It looks really cool especially since I dig knockoffs. I gotta say, I'm surprised that you don't have a Redline yet. You've got just about everything else in your collection!

I've got most of the cheap games Smile , but not many expensive games and Red Line always goes for at-least 3 times my maximum bid Sad .

Me too. That's the best way to collect. Lotsa fun stuff for not so much dough. If you're patient, you can get the rarer stuff eventually (as I have with my Atari collection).

Is this Redline game any fun? I've never even seen one.

I finally had a chance to try out the knock-off, and it's okay. If anything, it's too realistic: The race only lasts 4 to 6 seconds! Red Line lasts longer, and is much more fun despite being less true-to-life... I like Red Line's engine rumble better, too.

Neil: Got anything to trade, assuming you still want it after my glowing review? Laughing

It sounds very similar to Long Beach Grand Prix. I haven't put this one down since I got it.

Thanks Dan, but I'm not so sure since you said that Red Line is so much better.

I would gladly trade a couple of my games for a true Red Line. Are there any games that you still need that I might have? Wink

Neil, probably not, and even if there were I would have to dig for hours to find any spare Red Line I have squirreled away. The only reason I knew where the knockoffs are is because I just got them! Wink

That's OK Dan. If I had a Red Line I'd keep my hands on it too Wink

If anyone still wants this clone, there's a super-reasonable one on eBay right now!:
