Quote: | You need a Heathkit Hero-1 robot for your collection! I always wanted one as a kid, but since it was considered a 'real' robot (for the day), it was in the $100's thus it wasn't deemed a toy... |
I'm running out of space for robots... and an Omnibot 2000 would take priority! Come to think of it I'm running out of space for the handhelds too - or 'plastic crap' as my g/f lovingly calls them!
I got the light sculpture from www.vinca.co.uk - a specialist in Italian mid century modern lighting here in London. In fact i think they still have it listed on their website somewhere. They're based in Alfie's antiques market which is a rats maze of antiques dealers off the Edgware road and when i first saw it, it was piled behind a load of other lights and had to be dug out to demonstrate. It was love at first sight! They told me they'd only seen one other by the same designer making it rarer than an Adventurevision |

In the UK we have a magazine called Retro Gamer, which is of course dedicated to all things retro gaming related. The magazine has a Collector's Corner section which I submitted photos to, with publishtastic results! The handheld museum got a name check in the accompanying text, so lets see if there are a flood of new users in the coming weeks as the magazine came out today!

Is that the current issue? You MUST send me a copy! I'm not sure if I can still find it locally (I few news stands had it, but I haven't seen it in over a year, I kind of thought it was no longer published...)
Let me know the cost for buying it and sending it over here, I'd love to have a copy.
Thanks, Rik |

Congratulations!!
That's a good and "healthy" way to cultivate our hobby!
I really don't understand all the collectors that keep their collections closed in their houses without showing them!!
What's the purpose of collecting if you don't share it with others and do some bragging!
Anyway good work!!
