Hi everyone. I was wondering if anybody has any advice for finding replacements for battery covers. I have a few really nice games that don't have covers, but I don't know where I would be able to find one! Today I saw a Coleco Donkey Kong in almost perfect condition going for less than $25 (including shipping) except for a missing battery cover. Do you think its worth buying games with missing covers?

If the game looks good, I'd definitely get it. You can buy a crappy game later that has the battery cover... Smile

Depends on the rarity of the game. With more common games, I'd wait for one with the cover and good cosmetic condition all round. With the rarer ones, a missing battery cover isn't a deal breaker. My games spend most of their life on display, rather than being played, so it doesn't really matter if they don't have the cover. Of course it will affect resale value a bit.

Depends on how anal you are really!!! Same applies to the buying boxed vs unboxed games as well.

personally i don't put too much stock in battery covers. For me its all about excellent game function first (i actually like it if a game looks like it was enjoyed back in the day by some kid and missing covers goes with that terrritory). But yeah, if its clean and works excellent, pick it up and then buy a broken one for next to nothing for its cover.
