Atari Cosmos listed on eBay:

Only $15,000! (But it is damn rare...)

What are the odds that it sells?
If I had money to burn...
If it was 10K cheaper...
If it wasn't a recession...

If anyone wants to buy me a Christmas present...This is a great opportunity. I think it will sell. Not to me, but someone will purchase this.

If it does go for a high price, someone is going to dig up another one from their closet and the price will be cut in half. Of course, that would not stop me from buying it if I had the loot. Smile

Rik! Linda! What is wrong with you? If I had collections like yours, I'd gladly sell half of it, or even three-quarters of it, in order to be able to afford this thing!

I'm with Rik. Where are all the buttons? He should check that storage box again.

And what's up with the seller's ratings in the last 6 months? I would have to fly there to pay in person and inspect the merchandise for that type of money. However, it is in CA like Rik. He could pop right over.
The rarity of it makes it very desirable, but 15K or now 13K desirable? Not for me. I'll take a raincheck.

I wouldn't sell 1/8 of my collection for one single game. I rather wait for my income tax refund. Laughing

I think we should pool our money by buying raffle tickets at $250 each (would need 52 collectors) and then place all our names in a hat, pull the lucky winners' name out the hat. Then we inform her that she won. I'll collect the money and do the drawing. No worries. Wink

I'd rather have something that was never released, something that's a prototype, something that's phenomenally rare, than have a bunch of very very rare things. But that's just me.

Unfortunately, if I sold my entire collection, I might make only a couple thousand–not enough to buy this baby.

Wow, it sold for $7500!

Who bit, I wonder? Someone here?

I'm nonplussed. I can't understand how that thing is worth ten times what I've been offered for my boxed Black Knight. Non working, incomplete, and never even released... go figure.

Well, it's that 'never even released' that makes all the difference, plus it's Atari. Cool It was only bearly not working, probably easily fixable.

I'd have offered him $4000-5000 if he had it for another month, it's totally worth that... But that's the most I would have paid for it... The missing buttons can actually be obtained if you look hard enough (there's a few empty shells out there that have the buttons...).

I'm curious to find out who bought it too...

Where are you seeing that it sold? When I look at the auction is shows that it didn't sell.

He re-listed it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220545149293

And accepted an offer of $7500.

It's cool to look at and all... But, trust me, you don't really want to play it... As far as game play goes, the system really does suck. Rolling Eyes They did a good thing at canceling that one.
