For most handheld VFD/LCD video games it's easy to find out what batteries it takes but the wristwatch variety are a different matter, so I thought I'd do a list of what wristwatch game uses what battery, starting with the ones in my own collection:

SR54 / AG10 - Imado Pac Man (identical to Nelsonic button version)
SR44 / AG13 - Nelsonic Donkey Kong
SR41 / AG3 - Nelsonic Q*Bert
SR41 / AG3 - Nelsonic Zelda
SR54 / AG10 - Nelsonic StarFox
SR54 / AG10 - Nelsonic StarWing (UK named version of StarFox)
SR41 / AG3 - Nelsonic Super Mario Bros.
SR41 / AG3 - Nelsonic Super Mario Bros 3
SR54 / AG10 - Nelsonic Super Mario Race
SR54 / AG10 - Nelsonic Super Mario World (Bros 4)
SR54 / AG10 - Nelsonic Super Mario World (Bros 4, alternate graphics with grey shell)
SR41 / AG3 - Nelsonic Tetris
SR54 / AG10 - Ribena
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger Jurassic Park
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger Minnie Mouse
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger Street Fighter II
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger Sonic The Hedgehog
SR55 / AG8 - Waltham Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (identical to Collins Industrial version)

If you know first-hand what other wristwatches take what batteries, please post them here.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I try to add that to the website pages themselves when I know for sure what it takes, but I frequently get them without batteries, and just stuff in any that fits to test it... Cool Sometimes I have to hold it in with my finger (since it's too big/small), but it will at least power the game.

The nice thing about them though is that they are almost all the same voltage, so any battery that physically fits will usually work... But having exact numbers to purchase is a little easier. Mr. Green

This is probably the main reason for compiling the list, I wanted to know what batteries to stock up on as I have plenty of AG13's that fit the normal gameandwatch series but only 1 working AG10 and a couple of the others.

I hope to add more results to the list over time, I really like these wristwatch games but they're scarce on eBay and often too expensive. Got to work out how to make a setup to display them and any future acquisitions.

I got some more wristwatch games Smile

SR44 / AG13 - Konami Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
SR44 / AG13 - Nintendo Super Mario Bros Egg Catch
SR43 / AG12 - Innovation Space Shuttle Game Watch (same as Conso version but has background planet graphics on the watch)
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger Beauty and the Beast
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger Ninja Gaiden
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger The Little Mermaid
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger The Simpsons
SR54 / AG10 - Tiger WWF Super Stars
SR41 / AG3 - Xbox Ninja House

Minor rant: I really hate the Post Office, they charged me £8 to pre-pay £3.70 import VAT to the HMRC. My £23.61 Ninja Gaiden watch ended up costing me £35.31, and they don't let you pay HMRC charges any other way.

Thanks, there's one rare game watch I've omitted from the list as it doesn't actually play any games:

I managed to get 6 boxed ones some years ago and have sold a couple on eBay for a nice price. It takes an SR41 / AG3 cell and you press the A & B buttons to set the time.

Hey that's a neat watch. I've never seen that but I bet it would turn a couple heads if ya wore it. Looks to be in good condition too. Similar in idea to the Gameboy version with no game.

I may be persuaded to part with one of them for a price Smile

The plastic the buckles & shells of the watches are made of hasn't aged well though, all four have had to have a little superglue very carefully applied to the buckles to restore their strength as the force of the spring bar cracked some & broken others even before I received them many years ago (they were made in 1992), and two of the backs of the watches have a fine crack in them.

But despite that they all still look pretty perfect, and three of them (not the one pictured above) still has the protective plastic coating on the screen, plus they've got their boxes:

Just got one myself:
SR43 / AG12 - Tandy/Radio Shack Kung Fu Warrior

(LR can also replace SR in all of these... LR is an alkaline battery, SR is silver oxide.)

Hi Haku,

Thanks very much for sharing those batteries information. This will indeed very helpful when i'll revive my WWG's. Wink

But i have a request to ask you: Could you take pictures of these two watches ? Imado Pac-Man and Waltham Star Trek II. Even though i know what looks like their counterpart, still wanna see pictures of these two.

Thanks very much in advanced! Smile

HI.
I could make a dynamic page that has item and the battery info. I have been thinking of adding something like this to my site. I could share the code with Rik and he can use for handhelds and more.

Basically a simple admin page that you can enter a game title and the battery it uses. As for the live site page that could be simple too and sortable/searchable by name or battery type.

The Star Trek II watch came from either America or Canada (I forget which) and got it for a steal, the Pac-Man watch came from Australia by someone who had owned it since new and also got it for a steal because it was sold as not working (but I got it working, just needs a bit more cleaning to get the left side numbers on the LCD display to show up)

About the Game Gear watches, sorry they're not for sale but if I do decide to sell then I'll let you know first.

I got a couple more game watches in the post right now plus some others previously to add to the list sometime.
