Hi everyone Smile

Sorry that my first post is so abrupt, but i'm an abrupt kind of guy Wink

Anyway, I'd really love to cover handheld within the magazine, but information on them really isn't that easy to come buy. I was wondering if collectors would be interested in being interviewed or if anyone knows of anyone who was actually involved with the machines back in the day.

Again apologies for first mail, but I really don't want to do this feature unless it's done properly, and I'd imagine this forum is going to be one of the best places to get help from Smile

You've come to the right place, all right.

What magazine? Do they have a proofreader? ("easy to come buy"?)

Don't mind me, I'm just the resident grammar Nazi...

Hey Darran, remember me? You did a Collector's Corner feature on me & my handheld collection last year. I'd be more than happy to be interviewed / help you out. I'm based in London, and not to brag or anything, but I've probably got one of the largest vintage handheld collections in the UK, that I know of at least!

For those of you not UK based, Retro Gamer is an excellent magazine covering retro computer games, and Darren's the editor in chief I believe. You can check their website out at www.retrogamer.net

Welcome to the forum Darran!

Though I'm one of the younger collectors on this forum, it might be interesting to get a perspective from a collector who didn't grow up with handhelds.

Rik, Linda, Neil UK, Dan are really good people to share histories and passions in my humble opinion, if they are interested that is !

I'm less experienced at collecting but really passionate about it, i'd be happy to help !

Thanks for the tips so far guys. The biggest problem is that there doesn't seem to be any real documentation about the companies like Grandstand and Tomy (in so far as the LED LCD handheld side of things) so it's going to be tough putting stuff together that's factually correct.

Looking at picking up an Astro Wars and Cave Man for payday. Just can't decide if I should bother with the boxes though as I could save a fair amount of cash.
