Just paid $500 for a boxed Romtec Colorvision.
Getting some buyer's regret.
What does everyone think. Good Buy or Bad Buy?.

What do you think Rik, did I pay to much or just the right amount?

It was this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeu-LC.....831wt_1262

Well, you won it in an auction format, so that suggests at least one other person thinks it's worth the same amount, so it can't be that bad...

I think I saw a boxed one in MINT condition sell for a little more than $700, so considering the condition of the box, that's probably not a bad price. I'd say it was a 'fair price', right about were it should be, based on some of the past sales I've seen.

Thanks, I appreciate your opinion Rik.

I was concerned because when I looked back at the other bids, a lot seemed to be shill bids. Basically there were a lot of bids from private bidders which always has me think they are shill bids.

Yeah, the bidding did look a little weird, but I didn't see the same bidders bidding on any of his other past auctions, and the under bidder bids on a LOT of things in the video and battery operated game categories, so it's probably legit...

You could always ask the seller for the ID of the under bidder. Tell him it's just to have handy in case you ever decide to sell it or something... See if he volunteers it willingly or not. Cool Might be good info to have anyway in case you _do_ want to sell it sometime... I actually do that a lot on stuff I think I might re-sell (like if I get a better looking one, I might have a buyer already lined up...)

Rik, did you manage to confirm how many games were released for the Colorvision. Was it just the 5 you mention in the Colorvision page or have you managed to find other games?

Also, how much do you think the following 4 boxed games would be worth:
Submarine, Horror House, Beasts Planet and Jungle Boy?

Anyone have any idea on what 4 boxed Colorvision games would be worth:
Submarine, Horror House, Beasts Planet and Jungle Boy?

I haven't seen any other games for the system released... Considering that the games are hard-coded into the system itself (not the cartridges like most cartridge-based systems), it's unlikely any others were made.

I bought 3 of them boxed on eBay about 10 years ago for $100... That's the only basis I have for a value, but I haven't been following sales of the system in the last few years, so it's probably not an accurate value...
