Who here has an iPhone? If you wanted an excuse to get one, this it it:

From a company (or person...) called TouchGrove:

Looks like they'll be making others...

Damn, wouldn't VFD games look damn cool on the iPhone? Cool

I haven't got one of those phones but it looks great. I wonder how realistically it plays.

Neil.

Bumping up an old thread... TouchGrove just released a new update to the Football app, it's now officially a Mattel Football application. They actually licensed the game from Mattel and changed the game play and sounds to mimic the real game more. (I haven't played it in detail to see how accurate it is, but at first glance it seems pretty close.)

It even simulates opening the box (sort of) when you start the app... Cool

Search for LED Football in the app store. I believe they will be updating the other apps to official Mattel licenses soon too (Football 2 and Basketball, with others planned).

If you already have the LED Football game, it's a free update.

This reminds me of the smartphone LED games a couple years back. They had Mattel Space Alert and Mattel Auto Race ported over.

If anyone has an iPhone and wants to try the LED Football, they are giving it away free this weekend (Superbowl promotion). It's a pretty decent version of the handheld for your phone, and they actually licensed it from Mattel, so it's got the original box cover artwork and game case design.

Here's their commercial for the game:

And here's a 'review' of the game on YouTube:

I haven't watched it all yet, but it's obvious from the beginning that he has no idea what the original game is it's trying to simulate... Rolling Eyes

EDIT- Yeah, just watched more of it... He thinks you get a touchdown when you reach the end of the screen... He's completely clueless, it's actually pretty funny. Mr. Green (And they apparently gave away the game for the Superbowl last year too...)
