I would like to buy stuff from Japanese auction sites etc and need an agent to do so. Basically someone local in Japan who can bid, receive the item and ship it to Australia for a fee.

Can anyone recommend a Japanese agent they have used that doesn't charge to much fee's and is reliable?

Yes I could do with a recommendation as well! For some games it seems Japan is the best place to hunt for them.

I use Cat Hands Agent:

http://www.cathandsagent.com/

At the time I signed up with them they had the cheapest fees, and fastest service. I would get an Email response from someone within minutes if it was sent during Japan's normal business hours. If bidding goes above what I've said is my max, they will try to email me to make sure I don't want to bid more... Cool

Now they seem to have a service where you log into Yahoo Japan yourself through their site, and place your own bids. They just handle the payment and shipping side of it. I've never tried this though, no idea how well it works (and you can still just tell them what you want to bid and they'll do it for you).

They will also stock up items if you want to buy multiple things so the final shipping to you is less. I've used them for Anime cels, and they will just hold them until I say I'm ready for them to shipped so I can pack cels purchased from multiple sellers into one package for the overseas shipping. That should work well with small games too, but I suppose there's a size limit to what they can put in a box.

Always liked the service from them, but I haven't 'price shopped' agents in a while, so I can't guarantee they are still the best price, and haven't bought from Japan in a while, but they'd still be my first choice...

Thanks Rik, It looks like a good service they provide. I'll give them a good look.

Cheers
