Hello,
I've been collecting infos on the VTech electronic games and consoles for years.
My database is very detailed but uncomplete.

VTech games were released in several countries, through several local distributors (Altric, Polistil, Ludotronic, Dick Smith, Hanimex...) but were all 100% manufactured in Hong Kong by VTech itself.

Even though the cardboard box reads "Ludotronic" it was in fact made in HK, and the box has its own "production number", which identifies every item manufactured by VTech.

I'm trying to gather information on producion numbers, catalogue numbers, lists of local distributors, etc...

This is the kind of information I need. Here's a couple of Examples

1) "Les Telefon Fous", necklace version
- original name "Hotline"
- (C) Ludotronic 1982
- cardboard box, n. 90-xxxx-yy
- instructions manual (French), n. 91-xxxx-yy
- Ludotronic catalogue number xxxx

2) "All'Arrembaggio", classic Time & Fun series
- original name "Pirates"
- (C) Polistil 1981
- cardboard box, n. 90-xxxx-yy
- instructions manual (Italian), n. 91-xxxx-yy
- Polistil catalogue number VGxx

And so on...

The "production codes" you find:
- on the box (one of the flaps)
- on the blister (bottom right corner of front page)
- on the instructions manual (bottom right corner of last page)

The "VTech catalogue numbers" in the format 80-0xxx are usually printed on the game box.
Games in blister sometimes have a sort of mini-catalogue on the back, showing catalogue numbers.

I will provide the current database on Excel file to each and everyone who makes request.

Let's join our effort to try to complete the database! It's a unique project, for the use of all collectors.

Smile

Rik: you can contribute by sending the info on the "Ludotronic Asterix", which might turn VERY VERY useful!

Okay, Asterix Hunt for the Boars (Ludotronic) is as follows:
Box: 90-0226-01
Manual (French/English/German): 91-0236-01

On the back of the game:
(C) 1984 Ed. Ablert Rene.

Thanks a lot.

Do you want me to send you the Excel database, with the infos I collected by now?

This way you could add the info from the games you own.

Yep, got it...

I'll dig out the rest of my Vtechs either tonight or over the weekend and see what I can find...
