Greetings all,

I’m new to the forum and would like some help with my Entex Defender game I recently picked up. I switched it on with new batteries in and got nothing. I was pressing on the batteries and got it to come on. However, it doesn’t stay on. It will go out on its own, but if I turn the game upside down it will come back on. The battery terminals are clean.

Thanks,
Lee.

Try an adapter first.
The battery terminals, even while looking clean, can have a thin layer of nearly visible corrosion. Try rubbing them with some vinegar or so.

Also, try bending them outward a little (if possible, not sure what they look like off the top of my head) so the batteries fit in tighter. And spin the batteries a few times after you insert them, that my work off any not-so-visible layer of oxidation on the metal.

Thanks for your replies. I tried the vinegar trick and still didn't come on. I did buy an AC adapter at Radio Shack and it now works. Thanks to this forum for helping me get the right adapter.

It's fun, I played the arcade version in the '80s all the time.

Just bought a game that was marked defect as the seller tried new batteries without success. THERE WAS AN AC ADAPTER IN THE BOX, and with that it WORKED! Cheap find for me anyway.
