Today's update is an unforeseen one. I really couldn't expect that I would have found high-resolution images of the Armor Battle game!
A long-time friend, Giuseppe Gristina from Sicily, was surpsisingly so kind to send me perfect pictures of the game. This allowed me to re-release the game under the newest standard (S4).

The new simulator has a much better graphics, serious bug-fixes to routines which heavily affected the gameplay, new splash screen (with enable/disable option), new instructions manual, etc.

This is the list of new files:

- Armor Battle (Mattel Electronics) S4/1.02 (Standard 4, complete rewrite)

- MADrigal CD Collection ver. 59.7
- ClrMamePro DATfile ver. 20140922 [59.7]

They're available for download at the usual page.

P.S. I'm looking for good quality pictures of the other game of the same series: Sub Chase. Please send me an email if you have the game and you're willing to contribute this project!

You're a saucerful of kindness, Rik! Smile

I need a very high quality picture or scan of the game.

If you're willing to take a picture, please make sure to:

- set the camera to the highest possible resolution

- do not use flash

- shoot when the item is well lit

- the light must come from the top part of the handheld (i mean: no left or right side lighting)

- let the "power" and "arrow keys" engravings visible. i know it may be hard if the item is not well lit

and most importantly: make sure the picture is not shot from an angle. it has to be shot perpendicularly. i know... it's hard! :-/

.... a scan would be the best option, anyway.

Thanks a lot Smile

Do you want lighting from the top _only_, or if I can light from top/left/right at the same time, would that work? (I have a light box, and 3 tripod studio lights, so I can adjust them around to reduce harsh shadows...)

If I take a picture straight-on, the camera may be visible in the plastic of the display, although that's probably easy to Photoshop out.

I'll try a few configurations this weekend and see what works.

The lighting with 3 sources might work well, I'm pretty sure that you'll get the perfect ligthing setting.

But the picture must be straight-on, I need a "sort-of-scan" effect. Did you notice the graphics of my latest Armor Battle simulator? That's a photo. The camera was slightly noticeable on the original photo, but I was able to remove it with Paint Shop Pro.

Thanks a lot!

If you want straight on, also make sure you use a short-medium telephoto lens (70-200mm 35mm equivalent). That makes perspective less visible and keeps distortion low.
