Since I couldn't find anything really impressive or representative I decided today to take pictures of everything (related to handheld games) I could find at home, hoping that others will do the same. We need more pictures here, damnit!
Btw; the shipping boxes in the second picture are empty. Unfortunately. I still like them a lot, though.

That's a very nice Nintendo collection you have there Marcus, plus a good selection of other games. Have you been collecting long?

Neil.

Thanks. I've been sort of collecting for about three years now. Bought some G&W games early august 2002 and that started some intense nostaglic flashbacks. I had a "gotta have everything retro gaming" period, but I sold most of the other stuff and now I mostly buy handhelds and the occasional NES game.

Ahhh, the NES....I have a couple of dozen of those myself...A great system for it's time (and some of my games still seem great).

Marcus, nice collection. It reminded me that I need to take pictures of my catalogs. I used to have a NES collection with 74 games. I lost it along with the rest of my handheld collection in a fire back in 1995. Crying or Very sad

I've insured my new collection. Won't make that mistake again.

Oh dear Linda Sad . I dread a fire in our house. It must have been dreadful Crying or Very sad . Did you loose any really rare handhelds that day? Were there any games lost you are yet to replace?

Neil.

There wasn't anything extremely rare. Believe me I've replaced everything I lost plus some. Very Happy Other than my NES collection which I never really got back into collecting and a couple small sports games, I think I have everything I had then. I did have extra unopened copies of my favorite games NES games like Zelda and Final Fantansy which I think go for a nice price on ebay now, the important thing is everyone in my family got out safe and I've learned to insure and catalog my games.

Who do you insure your games through? Is it expensive (and does it just cover your game collection, or is it kind of a full personal property insurance?)

It's through my home insurance, but's a add on for a vintage game collection. I have to supply proof of how much I purchased the games for and their value, etc, etc, which is why I always try to pay via paypal. I just use that account for game collecting and it makes it easy to print out records of all the games and purchase prices.
