far out!
Ive gotten it down into the 30's now but cant even imagine getting it down into the 20's.
if you speed up the machine from inside does it help you get a better score or
make no difference?

the trick is to switch the game on and immediately jump it to 4th gear to go fast. from that point, it is mainly a matter of luck when you get your car to the very top. you pretty much just have to make fast guessing moves at the top and hope you don't get hit in the process. just switch the game off and start over if you get hit. eventually it is possible to go all 4 laps without getting hit. it just takes many many times of starting, popping it to 4th gear, and re-starting when hit. doing this will surely get you an awesome score within 30 minutes or so. you just have to be very patient and go for it. good luck and thanks!...billy

you know what man, even though its the oldest game and there are other handheld games with better graphics and all that I LOVE auto-race, I think its one of the best! its timeless too and looks really cool and i love how the display is not just LED bulbs but more like an LED watch.
imagine if someone had produced an led / vfd game wristwatch.

I'll follow your advice

i agree. i really dig this game too. i really knew nothing about it when i purchased it on ebay a month ago. i was really surprised when i got it in the mail. the small compact design is awesome. i agree, the red led watch like graphics are very nostalgic. and how about that sound? whoever programmed this game to sound like a real race car running off 1 measly 9-volt back in 1976....man, they must have got some mad props for that.....

yeah same here, I was surprised when I got mine not long ago.
I used to play it when I was a kid but couldnt remember how cool it was.
I think it was advanced and also how it only starts when you put it into 1st gear is cool, even alot of later vfd games just start when you turn them on etc

Awesome game!

Just got one today and I can see the addiction. The best time I got was 40.

I just wish there was an 'Off' button, darnit. Annoying having to pull the battery.
