Indeed it is damn hard. If I remember correctly it took me a few hours of gameplay to beat that score. The bandai vampire is tough also. Check my score.

wow, great job. i don't have that vampire game,
but it looks awesome. i have repaired jump buttons when
they start to fail. have you ever taken your games apart?
they are usually pretty easy to get into. a lot of times you can
extend the button spring, or insert a small piece of plastic to
help give you a good button boost...billy

Yes I did open the game and everything look like brand new under the cover. No spring on the bandai. Its just a plastic bloc pushing on a rubber button. However mine is working fuzzy. Perhaps its just the way these units are working?

Look under the rubber button, make sure the metal contact pattern on the circuit board is clean and shiny. If it's not, use a pencil eraser to polish it. Also, make sure the underside of the rubber piece has a nice black circle on it. If the black is wearing off, you may need to replace it. (You can try gluing a small piece of aluminum foil on it in the meantime though, but might fall off with heavy use...).

Also, the rubber thing itself acts as the spring, make sure it's still bouncing up all the way and not sticking to the circuit board.

Billy- is that the Kenner Alien figure terrorizing you in your Avatar? Cool

hahaha. it sure is rik. i was wondering if anyone would notice.
that toy is one of my favorites. from the late 70s i believe.
rumor has it they removed it from stores because kids were
getting frightened by it. its so crazy when they make toys from
rated R movies. great toy though...thanks!!...billy

Yeah, I remember hearing it was either kids being scared, or parents just not allowing their kids to have it... I got one when I was a kid though, and I loved it! Still have a loose one on my desk, and bought a never-opened one that's sealed in a plastic display box (one of those AFA graded cases). I still think it's the coolest Alien toy they've ever made. well, after many many hours of playing coleco's donkey kong,
i noticed that the score goes backwards when you reach 70,000.
view this youtube video i posted to see for yourself. my final
score (once added correctly) = 79,000.
serge has put me through the ringer on this one.
i'm eager to hear feedback on this!

it looks like it goes to 69200. then briefly showing 07000 high score, then drops to 60000 and goes up again. if you reach 69200 again, does it do the same?

well, the 7000 that shows is a bonus. the way this
game works is: every time you pass 2 boards...
(a barrel board & rivet board) you get an extra higher bonus
after each completed level. it starts at 1,000 then goes
to 2,000, 3,000, etc... this 7000 was bonus points
that should have been added to my current score. Smile

That's a weird one... You are probably going to have to always record your game at that point and go back and manually add up all the points earned after that if anyone wants to try to beat it...

It's funny, they really never expected people to be that good at these games. Mr. Green
