Can anyone help me with this? After I put batteries in it I pressed the start button but all I hear is the motor trying to run. The reset/start button doesnt stay down. I have to hold it down to hear the motor trying to work. Is this common and if so, what can I do?

Yeah it is common, in fact it's normal. You have to keep it pushed until the timer goes passed the "S" Try that ! Mr. Green

As I keep it pushed is the road supposed to move? The timer isnt moving either although the motor is making a constant noise.

From what I remember, if you push in the reset button, the road should still continue to move, but you can't crash (thus you can wait until your care is clear of another vehicle to start playing). If your road isn't moving, something has broken or come loose inside. One problem I've found is that the gear that's actually attached to the motor will sometimes not spin with the motor (like a stripped screw). Usually a little glue can fix that.

The only problem is getting to the motor... There's so many little parts in those things that you have to be really careful and pay attention to where everything goes to get it back together...

Indeed if the timer and the road are not moving there is a problem with the game.

Yea, no doubt Rik. I had it apart tonight so I know exactly what your talking about with all those small parts. I plan on opening it back up tomorrow to check the motor to see if what you suggested might be the problem.

Well, after some prodding it looks as though the seller is going to give me a refund. Gonna ship it back tomorrow. The hunt continues.

You know, I have one of these. It's not really my thing (I go for the VFD games). It's missing the battery cover, but is in good shape otherwise. I might be interested in a trade or something Roback. Let me know if you are interested. I actually found it in the wild.
