That's the LCD remake that came out a couple of years ago... It's interesting to have if you have the original Mattels, but it's just not the same as the originals...

But, for $2 it's probably worth it... You can hardly go wrong there. Rolling Eyes

I have read the term 'thrift store' several times on this forum but I am unsure exactly what kind of shop this refers to. I have imagined it to be some kind of upmarket junk shop or a 'cheepy shop' similar to our Hypervalue? Please could someone describe what they are like.

Thanks, Neil.

Thrift stores are stores where people just donate old stuff they don't want. The stores will then put a price on it and attempt to sell it. Some are for-profit stores, others (like the Salvation Army or Goodwill) are non-profits that use the money to help the needy...

They can be interesting becuase you never know what kind of old 'junk' will show up in them...

Toward the end of the Atari 2600 era, a lot of the thrift stores in Silicon Valley/San Jose (where Atari was based) started getting all kind of prototype 2600 games, some that had never been released, that ex-Atari employees dug out of their garages and attics... I imagine that was a fun time for the people that lived in that area.

Yes, the Salvation Army is mostly dirty and over-priced while the Goodwill is clean and cheaper. It was at the Goodwill, and I know it was a remake, I have 2 Basketball ones.

Thanks Rik,
The Salvation Army or Goodwill shops sound just like our Charity shops. Unfortunately, most of the charity shops in my area refuse to sell any electrical items for safety reasons, and I have never seen any handhelds of any age in the one that does Sad .

Neil.
