Does anyone remember that game where you would play tic-tac-toe against a plastic "robotic" chicken? This one just popped into my mind but I don't remember the manfacturer or what it was called. Anyone know what these ones go for nowadays?

Thanks-
phitter

'I Took a Lickin' from a Chicken' by LJN...

Apparently it's worth some money too:

Boxed for $255

Loose in Australia for $131:

But there's also a loose one in Canada that just sold for $36... Seems to vary a bit, but that's Ebay for ya...

I could probably add it to the museum just for complete-ness... I have other LJN games on there.

That is it! Yikes, I didn't think it would command such a high price.

How much are you looking to get for your spare one Neil?

I don't know if anyone remembers, but when this game came out it was kind of common to go to a store and among the arcade games would sometimes be a vending machine with an actual chicken in it, which would supposedly play tic tac toe with you. The way it worked though was when you put in your quarter I think it would give it food and the chicken would peck at it, which would make a light up tic-tac-toe board enter the computers move which would supposedly also be the "chicken's" move.

Seemed pretty cruel to keep a chicken in and I always wondered if someone came after hours and took it out Very Happy

Anyway, I doubt anything like that could be put into a public place today Laughing

Yeah, when I was kid living in Houston, Texas there was an amusement park owned by Six Flags called Astroworld (Well, it was there until last October, so it's not like it's been gone for decades or anything.) They had one or two of those in their 'western' themed section of the park back in the early 80's. It was actually a little building with 3 or 4 chickens in it, and one would be in the 'Tic-Tac-Toe' part for a while. I assumed they'd swap out birds every once in a while...

Haven't seen one in years (I've also seen a robotic one in the 90's, I assume that replaced the live-chicken version after animal-rights started getting popular). I'm assuming this game was modeled directly after the carnival version... Mr. Green

There are casinos that still have live tic tac toe playing chickens, and their environment is actually very humane compared to what most of their sisters endure in factories... I only know about them via Google...
