What's with the forum taking so long to load? It happens everywhere I access it from, so I don't think it's just me.

It's not just you, it's a bit better today, but the last days it was incredibly slow Neutral

Yeah, I'm seeing it myself... I'll have to check with the service provider to find out what's going on... Hopefully it's a temporary thing.

Okay, apparently they updated the MySQL database software about 2 months ago and it caused some problems. They've been trying to get them resolved, but it's a slow process I guess... To quote someone in their IT dept:

Suffice it to say, the Feng Shui of the MySQL system is "out of balance" at the moment ... as I've said before -- we have lots of metrics and diagnostics and great minds at MySQL AB involved ... so, hang tough ... we'll get thru it.

Wink

It might take a month or so, but they'll get it sorted out eventually... I hope.

Heh, it was nice and snappy right after you complained, but now it's back to taking almost 20 seconds to load a page!

Edit: and now it's fast again the next morning. Guess I'll just enjoy it when it's fast and put up with it when it's slow, and give them the time they stated to fix it permanently, before bothering to comment on it again... Wink

Yeah, I'm sure it's a combination of problems with the new software, and luck-of-the-draw browsing when no one else is (on their servers, that is).
