That's great! Although I'd suggest you edit your announcement to put it back under wraps until you get the unit, lest some lowlife contact the seller and pay them well to back out of your deal! (Not to put ideas in anyone's head!)
Edit: EXCEPT: I assume it was you who talked the seller into adding the BIN, I just saw in my email that this auction started at $50 with no BIN. I am on record what I think of buyers who lowball ignorant sellers into adding too-cheap BINs. If someone were to talk the seller into backing out of your deal, at this point I'd be all for it! UNLESS you just happened on the BIN after someone else talked him into adding it, in that case I'd be high-fiving you all the way... No way to know for sure by just looking at the ad.
At any rate,
When will sellers learn not to let themselves get talked into getting screwed? |

I just asked him for a buy-it-now, I didn't say for how much. Also, he said in his response he knew how much they were worth... I found it strange how little he wanted. I'm with you about the "talking sellers into obscenely low prices." |

Well, that's a grey area then, can't blame ya for just askin', I guess you lucked out! (As for him knowing what it's worth, but asking so little, the "untestedness" might enter into it... Still, the box alone is worth what you paid!)
I'll never understand why people who have no idea what something's worth will plop a price on it, but on the other hand, if no one did that, there goes all my treasure hunting at thrift stores and garage sales! |

I think it's funny that he said he knew what they were worth... I wonder what he based that knowledge on...
I'd be curious to find out if it works when you get it!

Hey, he said he knew they were worth $4000 mint. That means it was fair game!
By the way, Rik... could you edit out what it was from your post? I already PM'd blue... Trying to keep this under wraps till I get it.

For some reason I never got around to posting more in this thread... so here's the story.
The AV arrived without a hitch. I didn't get around to opening it until a few weeks after it arrived. When I did, I put some batteries in, flipped the switch, and... nuthin'. Oh, well, it was still a great buy.
After about ten minutes of fiddling with the carts and the system to no avail, I packed it back up, put it in my collection room, and mostly forgot about it.
Then, a few weeks ago, I took it back out to see if I could get it working. I put some batteries in, plugged in Defender, and flipped the switch. And what do I see? A screen full of red dots!
After messing with the cartridge and switching the system on and off a few times, success! Defender in all its monochromatic glory!
So I got a working, complete-in-box Entex Adventure Vision with Defender and a boxed Super Cobra, all for less than $250, including shipping! |

Yeah, one of the joys of owning an Adventure Vision is discovering how poorly made the system is! If the cartridge isn't in there _just right_, it doesn't work...
Congrats on getting a working one though! It certainly is a unique system if nothing else...
