Welcome to our Forum Mike
You have a very nice collection there especially for only $300 . I would have thought that lot would have cost much more. Are they available at good prices in Switzerland or did you get several from abroad?
You must have the collecting virus bad looking at all the other things you collect . It must be hard to store it all!
All the best with your website.

hi neil
thank you! i got a few of them from abroad, and those few are the games that i had to pay around 300 bucks... the rest i got spent from friends and lots of people 'round my hometown. one of my neighbours got the biggest collection of computers and computer relatet stuff like calculators, digital watches, abacus-thingies and more in europe. and he is hardly working on a project to open a museum for all that! and the thing is...if this museum really happens...i'm the one who should lead the game departement. so this is why i started collecting other game stuff than just handhelds and tabletops...
so the word went around and every now and then someone brings my a bag full o' goodies! yesterday for example a neighbour brought me around 25 PS1 games...for free..!!!
and then...it was a lot more easy to find those games at scrapmarkets and garage sails in the 90's. i only knew 2 other collectors in switzerland at that time...so there was plenty of games for all of us on those fleamarkets.

oh yes the virus got me bad... it started when i was 4 years old... my first record of the beatles started it all...since then i'm collecting records (wich is by far my biggest collection), and as i started to produce music myself the synthesizers came on....
yes storage is a big problem...specialy my arcade machines and those game pcb's need loads of space! i have one big cellar and around 6 smaller storage rooms in my apartment... but they're nearly full now... most of the console stuff is nicely stored in gray plastikboxes from the postoffice... only the handhelds, tabletops and records are in my livingroom... 'cause those are the things i collect for myself!
greetings

Goondoc, welcome. Very nice collection. I wish I started in the 90s when prices were lower and you could find the games easily fleamarkets. You've done well. I remember seeing them then and laughing about how I used to have one of those. Who knew??

hi linda!
thank you for your nice welcome!
hmm.... same with me but a little earlier! i had at least 100 lcd games when i was a boy! later as i grew up i lost interest in them and
we (my friends and i) even threw it on the wall if we didn't get the highscore done...as you said: who would have thought back then
that 20 years later i could kick my a** for that!!!
but on the other hand... there's more left to collect now!
have a nice day!

Hi Mike and welcome !Nice start! It would be nice to open a gaming museum. It is really an interesting idea to have it here in Europe.
Good luck with your website, the more the better!!

hi alex!
thank you!
i hope (and pray for) that we can actually build the museum...
we're not quite shure if the time is allready right for a project like this..
because it is a big financial thing too, we have to be shure that there
is a request for this and that we have enough customers and school's
and the like who are interested in computer history! there's a lot of freaks
outthere...but they won't travel 500 miles or more just for a museum like this!
so most of our customers have to be from our own country!
but if we really open the museum we will for shure have a nice game department.
and i'm working hard on it to make that departement really cool...
most of the systems (except the very rare and expensive ones) must be playable...
i think a museum just for your eyes sucks, games are meant to be played!
regards
