I'm setting up a lot of auctions, cause I'm soon selling around 30-40 of my handhelds - house move, so i need more space.
I kept this handhelds for years, but still couldn't find what the actual English name was. Of course it's Epoch's, but I'm uncertain of the game name.
Gameplay is very close to Space Cobra and Scramble.
Please help me identify this. Thanks in advance

It was released as 'Pocket Scramble' by Grandstand. I'd suspect there's an Epoch version with the same name...

My pictures collection (I collect pictures off eBay as well as actual games) shows that the Schuco branded version was labeled as Scramble too. The game was also named Space Crusher for the Japan release, and the Radio Shack branded version was also called Space Crusher. |

I think the literal translation from French is interesting: "The War of the Stars"!
(Good thing George Lucas never heard about it back in the day!) |

Yeah but in french star wars is ''la guerre des étoiles'', not ''des astres'', i'll give you that astre and étoiles is pretty close though.

Oh, okay, I was just going by Google Translate, I had no idea those wacky French had two words for star! So that's how Epoch got away with it! |

Well in fact astre is more general than an actual star. Like all space bodies out there, dwarfs, suns, moons, planets and all the rest. Translators aren't very accurate...
Étoile is the rigth word for star

I see. This makes me realize that Star Wars is a dumb name to begin with, there aren't any stars at war, they are just hanging out fusing hydrogen into helium. It's the planets that are at war! Ought to be Planet Wars! (Doesn't have the same ring to it, though.) |

Actually, planets just hanging around stars, aren't they? People were at war!
