Hi ,
This is my first post here ... I am from Malta and im 29 years old .
The LCD games from the 80s bring back a lot of fond memories for me so i have decided to collect a few .
Till now i have about 29 Nintendo Game & Watch games , some Tronica and 2 Tomy Tronic 3D games amongst a couple of others .
I also have a load of Gameboys
Anywayz , here is my problem ..... I have Sky Attack (Tomytronic3d) and basicly it just won't work .
I have tried brand new batteries , made sure the battery contacts are clean but the thing will just refuse to switch on .. No screen or sound .
Any ideas how i can fix it ? |

You could try taking it to bits and making sure the leads that connect the battery compartment to the pcb haven't become de-soldered. I had one where the sound failed and the problem was with one of the leads to the pizo speaker.
If it's not that check the contacts on the start button are ok. If it's not that you've probably got a serious problem in the pcb somewhere and you'll have to let someone who really knows what they're doing take a look (or get another one).
Taking these things apart is quite easy and I even did a vid that'll let you know what you're in for

I hope that's a help. |

Thanks MarbleMad .. I have just tried that but nothing
I tested with a continuity tester to see if power was reaching the motherboard which it is .. I have used an ISO motherboard cleaner to clean all the contacts , even on the PCB .
I guess it is simply dead ... No idea what could be wrong .
Great Video btw ... and Thanks

did you try cleaning the contacts on the start button and activating it by bridging the contacts with a conductor? |
