Since this isn't a handheld I figured I'd post this in the Off-Topic thread...
I made the decision to complete my Vectrex collection a couple weeks back. It has always been tied with the TurboGrafx 16 as my favorite vintage gaming console of all times, but has sat for years incomplete.
I recently purchased the elusive Vectrex dust cover to complete my accessories.
My 3D Imager and all three of my 3D cartridges are un-boxed and my 3D CrazyCoaster is missing the color wheel (luckily it is identical to the Narrow Escape color wheel so I can still play it).
So to get to the point, I was wondering if anyone here happens to have a boxed 3D Imager or a boxed Narrow Escape or boxed Crazy Coaster they wish to part with. I would even be happy with just the boxes. I am happy to pay a fair price and as always, I have tons of trading stock if you prefer a trade.
The only other item I would be interested in, but it is not really necessary, is an original Vectrex service manual.
Thanks! |

I just got a boxed 3D Crazy Coaster for my collection for a steal because the owner forgot to mention Vectrex in his auction!

So now I only need a boxed 3D Narrow Escape and a boxed 3D Imager if anyone has them they are willing to part with.
I have a ton of extra boxed Vextrex games and a spare controller for trading stock. |

Ahh, I love the Vectrex... I have a fairly complete collection myself (all the store-bought stuff, the display stand, carrying case, dust cover, original service manual and fan club magazine). I know several of the people that have some of the rare prototype games and such... A friend of mine has the elusive Mr. Boston boxed...
The rarest things I own are the original Test Cartridge and the Minestorm bug fix cartridge. I would love to get a true prototype of something one day...
A lot of my collection can be seen here:

*drools over the Minestorm II cartridge* I have been searching for Minestorm II for years... If you EVER want to trade or sell it, I'd make it well worth your while. |

Here's something really cool. This is one of the original prototype Vectrex machines. I believe about 5 or 6 were made, and this is believed to be the only one remaining. Notice that the circuit boards are all generic prototyping bread boards, and all the circuits are hand-soldered together. The case is made out of styrene and plexi-glass glued together in almost the exact shape of the final unit. The black thing on the upper-left of the top circuit board is actually a juice can covered in electrical tape that is serving as the cover to the high-voltage transformer...
I'm not sure if it still works or not... But it's definitely cool. I know I have more pictures of it somewhere, I'll have to make a section about it on my Vectrex page. (This was on display at Classic Gaming Expo in Vegas, and will probably be back this year if the show actually happens...)

I now have all the 3D Vectrex items boxed... I just picked up a boxed 3D Imager from an extremely nice guy over at the AtariAge forum along with a boxed Bandai Crazy Climber!
So now with the exception of Minestorm II and Mr Boston (Do they count?), I truly have a complete boxed Vectrex collection! Woohoo! |
