completed the game with 9540 but i can EASILY beat this score (see below)
in the Tiger Strider thread, i stated that most level-based Tiger games have a maximum score that can be reached when completed, as each level has a set amount of enemies which kills off any score variance. winning still gives you a "GAME OVER" display and pressing ON/START begins a new game at zero points.
Double Dragon II also has a maximum possible score, but the only way to get it is to be sneaky. at the end of each of the 9 missions, your remaining health is added to your score (10 points per block) as bonus points.
you are given THREE lives PER MISSION, not per game. so unless you totally suck, you'll have a life to spare at the end of each mission. when the last enemy appears on the screen, a door is shown at the far right. this is your cue to let the enemy kill you. now kill him with your new life. repeat for all missions.
full health = 8 blocks = 80 bonus points.
80 bonus points x 9 missions = 720 total bonus points.
