20 years or so ago, sometime in January, there was a small collection of Nelsonic game watches (Mario and Zelda) on display at the jewelry counter at the local Jamesway.
Oh, how I wanted those watches... But neither my meager savings nor my mother would permit me to acquire one.
About a week ago I said "why not just buy one?" and headed off to eBay to lose a few auctions.
Now, being the proud owner of a Nelsonic Zelda game watch, I'd like to get to know it a little better. The astonishingly small screen size makes it difficult to make out the LCD artwork -- which for me is a big part of the charm.
Does anyone know if it's possible to show all of the display elements at once (similar to pressing the "acl" button on other handhelds)?
I'd like to try for a close-up picture of the display. |

I don't know that watch in particular, but the two things I've seen work on some other watches are:
1- pressing a clear/reset button (usually recessed in the case so it's not easy to press)
2- removing the batteries. When you first put the batteries in, some games/watches will display the entire LCD for a second...
Might be tough to do on a watch while trying to take pictures of it, but it might work...

Thanks Rik,
Unfortunately, the battery trick doesn't work.
In case anyone stumbles on this in the future, I've run through all 64 button combinations without success.
It looks like the answer to my original question is 'no'. |
