Hi there,

My first post althought I have lurked here for a while.

I am having a touch of nostalga when I recently snag a few old games from eBay and was going thru my collection of old games and I rememembered I took apart my Bambino Race 'N' Chase a few years back because there was no sound. Discovered the piezo speaker cracked in two. Tried to find a replacement but could not find any at that time and gave up. Chucked everything back into storage.

Just took out the game and was trying to fix it again but now I don't remmeber where the speaker leads go to on the circuit board. They have sort of detached from the board and I have not the faintest idea where they are to do a replacement speaker.

If someone who has the game be kind enough to tell me where the speaker goes to, I will be eternally grateful.

I sort of guess the location as shown in the picture attached but if I can get a confirmation that would be better.

Game in motion but without sound

Thought I will post an update on this.

Never got to do the replacement. I shorted the LSI circuit by accidentally letting the speaker lead touch the custom chip. Imagine 50+ volts hitting the LSI chip. Now it doesn't work anymore. The display will just randomly flicker with most segments turning on. Crying or Very sad Totally fried the game.

Check out a short video of the fried game here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26GCObYGCBE

So decided to get a cheap replacement if I could find one and swap innards with my pristine casing shell and manage to score one for under $20 including shipping. The condition was quite bad with plenty of scuff marks and deep scratches and bad battery cover. but that wasn't what I was after. Wink

Moment of truth came when I put in the batteries to try it out and the game came to life with SOUND! Hah. Yessss!

Took my dead board out of my case and swap the working one in and now I have a nice working Race 'N' Chase with SOUND!

So after 25+ years and a heart transplant later, my Race 'N' Chase lives for another day. Wink
