I read, in a previous thread, that Rik had planned on providing a way for users to review/rate the games in the museum. Since that was a while ago, I thought I'd bring it up again as a reminder.
This is a feature that I'd really like to see.

The best way I can do that now is to have a section of the forum set aside for reviews/ratings. Maybe a thread for each game or company or something?
If you want to write something that should appear on the museum pages themselves, post it here (make a new thread/topic for each review). Especially if it's a game with no description at all that you have, write up a little about it's game play, if it's similar to an arcade game of any kind, etc and I can put that in the museum page. |

Rik,
Although this may not be feasible for various reasons, I think this approach would be interesting:
Limit the games, to be rated, to those featured in the museum section.
Each game would prompt for a number rating (1 low – 5 high) for the following categories:
- Presentation (electronic graphics, case design, screen art, etc.)
- Interface (controls, ergonomics, etc.)
- Fun Factor (Nuff said)
- Collectability (perceived value currently and down the road)
These prompts could be in a simple survey form…possibly radio buttons.
The results would be continually updated and shown at the top of each game’s thread…kind-of like the sticky-type I’ve seen on other forums.
~ Also the results would be auto-updated in the museum section.
Lastly, I would like to see two ratings summaries:
1. Site-member ratings (open to all members)
2. SME ratings - Subject Matter Experts: Veterans in the field…determined by Rik (not newbies like me)
I know this is a tall order and may not be practical.
Thanks and all the best,
StephenJ |
