what would you call the games from a bit before the handheld era and during that time....
like the one where you have a car , a driving wheel to move it but it is the whole road/landscape that is moving
and the whole is not made with a screen
but "real" like the road is a turning plastic "carpet"
I know I am expressing myself badly
how would you call those kind of games?
electric home games?
and do you know any websites that talk about them?
it is late, I am tired and should go to sleep instead of writing posts... |

You mean like Tomy Space Turbo and the likes? I guess they are mostly made after or next to the electronic ones. For some reason they were able to make a cheaper version of the electronic version by using extensive mechanical stuff. The one I mention is from 1985! Others are Daring Driver, Cosmic Clash and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtje Pocket arcades from 1982. Also weird in this segment are Tricky Traps from 1989 (a Donkey Kong with metal balls) and Yeaghh from 1990, two "platform" games entirely run on a motor with 5 little chrome balls. |

I think a lot of people call the electro-mechanical games. |

Prior to there being any electronic components whatsoever, they would have been just called battery-operated. |
