An aspect of HH and TT units were sometimes real people were featured on the boxes.

Some random examples:

1: This kid on this Kenner Star Wars box:

2: These kids on Nintendo's Micro Vs. NOA series boxes (Punchout featured here, but the same kids appear also on the DK 3 and DK Hockey boxes):

3: These people on the AV box:

I'm sure for a time when these were selling at their peak these folk would have been pretty chuffed knowing their images graced the boxes of some very popular games, and were a unique part of popular culture.

I guess I'm intrigued as to know "who they were and where are they now? What would they remember of this time? How did they get to be chosen for the covers? Were they 'models' or mere relatives of some in the R&D crew? How did their lives pan out? (Maybe that last question is a bit too much...)

I like to think the fame went to their heads, they couldn't hold a job later in life and they are now full blown crack heads. They could of been on 'Cops' already.

Especially with the 2 featured on the Punch Out I guess. Mr. Green

The chick on the 3rd link should have been launched into a wonderfull carreer. Thank you that it links to the wrong image because of the img tag gone awkward btw! If I just had seen the AV box, I would have missed that awesome walkman lady. Guess she's also featured on a Radio Shack portable radio box I have.

I actually received an Email from one of the kids (now an adult of course) that posed for the Coleco Head to Head Soccer game... He said his wife found the pictures of the games on my website and told him about it... He didn't want to be identified, but here's what he said:

Quote:
It was the idea of my 8th (7th?) grade math teacher. His friend was in charge of the scouting for the advertising company doing the Coleco campaign. I got paid $25.00 an hour, a lot back then and for someone my age. Originally I was supposed to only appear on the Head to Head Soccer box. In fact I didn't even know I was on the hockey box until my wife saw it on your web site. The funny thing was, after the job was done, the company sent me a check. Then, about five months later they sent me a second check. I called them to tell them they had sent me too much money (at the insistence of my mother) but could not reach anyone. I told my math teacher and he told me that his friend had moved since the shoot and was no longer handling the campaign. So I got to keep the cash. Anyway my wife, who is an attorney, believes that second check was to cover them because I was to appear on 2 boxes as opposed to just one. The funny thing was I never got a copy of any of the games. I saw the head to head soccer game in a store once and my friends and I got a good laugh about it.

At the time he sent me that he said he was a furniture designer, and had a website for designing furniture and layouts for bathrooms, kitchens, etc...

He's one of these two:
