**** UPDATE *****
Hey gang. I think I've narrowed down the game I'm looking for a bit. I suspect it might be a UK or French version of "Frogs 'n Flies". That would kind of make a lot of sense of the text and images I found on the graphics, but it hasn't been much help in tracking one down. I'm thinking this might have just been something that was produced in low numbers in some other country.
As before, ANY information, leads, help, or ones for sale would be greatly appreciated. I don't even need a working one. Just need the outer casing and buttons.
***** END UPDATE *****
Greetings all. Newbie here with a question that's been driving me nuts for a few months now. I'm trying to identify the game seen in these pictures:
The game was painted black and had some yellow reflective tape put over the screen so it could be used as a prop.
There are some markings that can be made out VERY
faintly under the black paint. To the right of the
screen is a picture of a frog jumping downward towards
a lilly pad. Underneath the screen, just above the two
rectangular buttons is the word "FROG", but it is
spaced such that there appears to be a letter
(possibly two) prior to the letter "F". I do not
believe the name of the game to be "Frogger", as the
letters are spaced out too far to allow for that many
to be along the bottom of the screen. To the left of
the LCD screen are two fish jumping out of a body of
water, and creating concentric circles/ripples on the
waters surface. There are three or four dragon flies
above the two fish. A treble cleff is above the upper
left hand corner of the LCD screen. Above the screen
are a few musical quarter notes.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give
me on helping to identify this game. Lastly, if anyone
happens to know of a source for one or more of these
games, I would be happy to purchase them.
Thanks in advance for your time and attention.

A little stumbling and I happened to find a game that looks a lot like it, but with different buttons:
Looks like it is made by a company called "systema". Getting closer.[/img] |

Yeah, the body style will have been used for several games (released by several companies). They would just change the printing on the front. I think I have pictures of more of these types of games, I'll check tomorrow... |

I have at least a dozen of these in various states. Not sure if I have any dealing with frogs, will check and let you know. _________________ "If I want to see freaks, I can just look out the window." - Johnny Eck |

Hey IG, I have to ask- do you have the black/yellow in the picture? (I.e., the original prop) Or, are you trying to make one for yourself?
Let me know if you find out exactly what game this is... I wouldn't mind having on myself...
(Oh, and let me know when you get R2 built, I'd REALLY love to see that in action!)

are you after that particular game or just the case and buttons to make a prop as above?
I instantly knew the shape, as its my favourite cheapy handheld.
This one looks very close, possibly it. Its box/game has no brand name. This one is 'Car Racing'.
Originally bought in Singapore in 1987. I have them also in blue/black and red/black at least. There is other games. I can't remember them right now. I have also seen them on ebay including Australia.
I pulled another couple apart and never put them back together again. The empty cases are around somewhere.
Here's a few more I found. I remember there's green ones somewhere too

Just wanted to drop in and thank everyone for the new intel on this thing. Looks like I might be getting closer. The ones posted above are indeed what I'm looking for. If anyone has any they are looking to sell, please drop me a line at matthewmunson at yahoo dot com. And no, it doesn't matter what the actual game is, I just need the chassis/body. I dont' even care if the game itself works.
And I will indeed post something when R2 gets finished. He's already behind schedule!!! You can check him out here...
