This is a hazy memory, and I may well be just mixing it up with WILDFIRE, but I swear I have a memory of a handheld pinball game, circa 78 or 79 (?) where there was a demon or a devil and possibly the word "Hell" or "Satan" in it. Or there was a kind of scary devil-face on the unit's interface? Enough to make a little kid vaguely uncomfortable. I don't know-- whatever it was, I remember it broke shortly after getting it, so I don't have a ton of recollection about it.
A snippet of memory I have is that whatever this was, the "flippers" were 3 round, red lights that animated, and in my memory, animated more fluidly than WILDFIRE.
I have WILDFIRE, which I Ebayed on the assumption that this was the one I had-- and I'm reasonably sure that it isn't it; there was something else with a more devil/hell kind of design choice to it. But internet searching and Ebay seem to prove my memory faulty. |

That's it. RAISE THE DEVIL. I remember being vaguely afraid of it; when I went to bed, I'd put it under stuffed animals, so's not to catch a glimpse of it in the blue-light darkness of the room as I tried to get to sleep.
Bravo. You guys are savants. |
