Trying to find a space themed two player tabletop...

I took a look around, but didn't have much luck. I am trying to remember the name of a tabletop space themed game. It was a two player game (or one person could play against the computer) where each player had their own set of controls on opposite sides of the device and placed face-to-face - looking at two different screens that butted up to each other. I would guess that it was manufactured in the mid to late eighties.

I don't exactly remember the object of the game, but know that it wasn't a space invaders clone. I do have some recollection of capturing your opponent and carrying them to some central location. Also, I know that it had a pretty powerful back light, because I used to play it in the dark when I was supposed to be asleep.
