Prototype Palmtex Super Micro (In clear plastic) on ebay, who bought it?.
If some one knows how to paste the images into a post , it's probably worth doing it as this will no doubt be the only one ever to be seen.

I bid, but it went for a bit more than I wanted to spend. Now, this may be sour grapes, but I'm not convinced this is a prototype, just a rare variation. It looks way too polished to be a prototype—besides the plastic color, it's exactly the same as the normal one. It's got the sticker and everything, plus it comes with an equally polished React Attack, which was a pack-in game.
I know they guy says a Palmtex employee gave it to his source, and I'm not saying he's lying, but I think it's more likely that an employee would give out a production version.
The system's rare enough as it is; it's not far-fetched for there to be a version we've never seen before. |

Well, he never calls it a prototype in his auction listing, and I raised the same flags- a true prototype wouldn't have the final production stickers or a serial number.
His listing about where it came from might be incorrect, he was getting conflicting information from the source of the game, but I believe it was a Nintendo employee that had this, not Palmtex... Either way, what I think it is is a promotional sample. I can see the company making a few of these in clear plastic to give out to distributors and licensers to drum up sales. Making it clear makes it 'look cool' so it's better remembered. (Apple made clear version of their original Macintosh laptops for CES shows and stuff like that, so it's not an uncommon thing to do.) But other than the clear case, yeah, it's definitely a production model, nothing prototype-like or anything about it...
He also a couple of new-condition Game & Watches, and two Vtech Tri-screens with the Palmtex brand on them, those aren't very common...
There's an ad forsale on eBay listing Palmtex as a seller of Nintendo G&W games, so those two companies were definitely working something out together... So I can see either a Nintendo employee having the Palmtex stuff, or a Palmtex employee having the Nintendo stuff... |

Still, prototype or not, it was pretty frickin cool and most likely the only one that will ever come up. I was a bit sour I missed it. I bid up to $261 (Im cutting back on my spending). I actually thought Id wake up in the morning and find it went for $400, so being close to the mark and missing out kind of bugged me. |
