Finally topped the 10000 mark.
Instead of a 1, they put a gold cup in front of the number.
10700 points
I played it handicapped. My wife is working in the same room, so it is on mute. Really hard, as the field is scrolling, you need to hear when the baddies resurrect from dead.
And there is no extra life at 10000 (there is one at 5000 points). |

This is a great game with a lot of replayability! It's rewarding when you get that trophy. Defeat aliens to take the magic pill back to your ship?
My high score right now is: 15860

Took me 3 hours of playing to beat your score. I was shocked at how fast the aliens move on higher levels. It gets so hard that your lives vanish so quickly. I was within a few hundred points of you for so long, but I kept at it until I got ya. (not by much.)
I did learn a helpful tip that I will share if you get stuck on this one.
16,160 (trophy = 10,000)

well, now that i think of it...you may have already been using this tip...
as i was playing, i couldn't beat your score because the enemies were too fast for me towards the end.
i starting using a tactic of "running over" as many blocks of dirt as i could on the early levels to get 10 points each for them. i could do this for quite a few boards before the enemies started to speed up. this allowed me to pump my score up just enough before things got too crazy. |

I tried out your idea and you're right. Getting points at the start is key. The aliens get going super fast later on.
I got a slight increase on the high score, but not much.
My high score is:16,760

Billytherobot, after hours into this. And I mean hours upon hours. In the good fun way. I can confirm that when you flip it a second time, there is no 2nd trophy. It just resets back to zero. The aliens continue with speed though and things get crazy fast. So there is no resetting or slow down at this second flipping point.
I flipped it once for the trophy: 10,000
I flipped it again back to zero: 10,000
And my remaining score was: 1,230
My total high score is: 21,230

tokyobatman,
i have been hard at work since the last post.
on Zackman...if you make it to the fast robot screens...you can find an area to sit and wait and as the dead regenerate, you can shoot them and rack up points 50 at a time very very quickly before your volcano is destroyed.
I flipped it once for the trophy: 10,000
I flipped it again: 10,000
I flipped it again: 10,000
And my remaining score was: 560
My total high score is: 30,560
as always, i can upload video proof if you ever want me to record.
my fingers are killing me!

This is an amazing score! I have no idea how to get close to it. I've tried everything.
So before your high score, I was killing the re-spawns in the area you mentioned. I did know about that.
For this one, each new level increases the speed of the robots. And even if you flip it, the increase level goes up.
For me, at about level 22 or 23. I really should count at some point. There is no avoiding the robots. From the start of the level, they will come flying to the top and kill you, before you can move.
Were you able to notice this? If so, did you work out a way to avoid that from happening?
So what I thought, to flip it 3 times. You went heavy on points on the earlier screens and then started killing the respawns when it got super fast on the second flip. Is this right?
I actually tried that strategy, I was aiming for 1,000 to 1,250 points for each level on the first 10 levels. After that, i couldn't maintain those scores because the robots were too fast. I had to move to killing the respawns.
Even on my absolute best run, with the highest beginning scores. I only got to 2 flips and a remaining score of 4,600 before I was doomed to death by the unavoidable hyper speed robots.
I am probably missing something though. Could you let me in on the secret?
Thanks! |

judging by what you are mentioning...i believe you are doing everything correctly. i might not have made it to the high level you are talking about...what i did do however, was milk every second out of the re-spawns until the 4th bullet of the enemy ship above just about killed my ship every time. i just killed as many re-spawns as i could until my game was over. give me some time and i will try and do a video run through of my exact game. (my wife got me a camera for Christmas and i still need to learn it.) i'll try and post a youtube video so you can see the action. stay tuned!.....
-billy
PS. on those last couple of boards, the action was moving so fast that the re-spawns were popping off so quick i couldn't believe it. the 50 points kept coming and coming so that's how the score got so high! |
