He might have the Japanese version:

The Japanese ones always seem to have completely different packaging than anywhere else...

Yes mine is the one on your site Rik.I really like the fancy and colourful boxes that the japanese allways put around their games. These games were supposed to be used by boys ,so what's the deal in making them ,like Tomy's,all the same with gloomy colour with only the photo and the name to differentiate them. They look like toys for a corporate manager (serial,serial,serial,serial......) imho. Rolling Eyes

Yeah they do have very nice boxes, japanese do love colorfull things, asians in general in fact. I often eat vietnamese food in restaurants and they always have colorfull ligths flashing, expecially around their little shrines !

I own the Tomy version of Kingman, which I bought through eBay loose.

Mine's the Japanese version, and it's neat to have the instructions be in a different language than English for once.

While I can see why some prefer the Tandy version of the game, I believe that the Tomy one looks more like a tabletop{as opposed to a handheld}.

As a major science-fiction/Godzilla fan, I love the Mecha-Kong take on Donkey Kong that Kingman provides.

The Tomy version has a quite distinct color scheme, as it includes three total colors{a red and purple border, alongside a golden casing}.

Much thanks go to Rik and this site, I wouldn't have known about this game's existence without him!
