Hi I have just been told about this website and I have to admit it's great the amount of games that are still around at the boot sales round here I think I will now keep a closer eye on what they all are.
I have always loved all forms of handheld/watch and early computer games but never had many as a kid so I think at 35 I will start my second childhood.
Brilliant website if I find anything I will post. |

Welcome to the Forum Gizmo . Your never too old to relive your youth .
I hope you have luck in finding some interesing games. I'm afraid boot sales in Wales dried up years ago .
All the best,
Neil. |

In case any non-anglophile yanks are scratching their heads, a "boot sale" is like what we Americans call a "flea market", the sellers having taken the stuff out of their "boots" (car trunks). |

So does a flea market have rows of cars with (usually) wall paper paste tables behind them full of items that that person has brought with them for sale? If so, that would be the same as a boot sale (UK).
I can understand 'market', but where does the term 'flea' derive from?
I have wondered if I pictured them right for a long time.
Thanks, Neil. |

We (hungarians) use 'flea market' expression as mirror translated and I have a feeling it is not originated from english (but who knows), it might have some old root. |

And that's where the English phrase is from. Apparently in the original Marché aux Puces in Paris, they sold flea-infested junque.
Here in the states we drive bigger vehicles, so we use wooden or metal folding tables... |
