Some sites on the internet mention the FlipTops from Gakken (DigDug, Amidar and Jungler) to be from 1981. But when I compare these games to others, they are pretty advanced for 1981. They look more like 1982 or 1983 games. Does anybody have proof of year of origin of these? The manuals, boxes and bottom stickers of my 3 games don't tell anything.

Oh, btw hi all you guys, I'm new here!

Hello to Eindhoven

you are right about the release year. Most likely it is 1983 for all three games. Proof is not 100%, but the games are not be found in any publication or catalog older than 1983. I've corrected the numers on my website in the meantime.

Thanks
Jaro

Fun thing you answer this! On your site it was 1981, but in your book one of the games is in the 1983 column in the time line Very Happy

Another question about the Fliptops:
Which versions came with a black joystick cap? My DigDug and Amidars don't have it, my Jungler does. They are all Gakken, and Amidar I have both Gakken and CGL (with the plumbing theme on the sticker instead of the pigs).
