Does anybody know how to open a Rosy 3D game?
It seems the joystick is being the trouble. If you unscrew the internal frame, it gets loose, but you can't get it out cause the joystick is not getting through the hole at the top. Is there a way to remove the ball on the stick or so? |

Humm...good question. I never saw any real Rosy 3-D tabletop, just pictures
and videos of them. I can only see two options: either there is a screw
that hold the base of joystick or the ball on the joystick is clipped together
with small plastic clips inside. If it's clipped, then be very careful not to
break them.
Or if you can take pictures of the joystick, that will surely help to know
how it's held together.

I am afraid it is made non-removable.
The stick is a tiny aluminium tube with a ball put inside it. I think the ball has a tiny plastic pin. After the ball was mount, I think they used a plier to press a small part of the aluminium tube into the plastic. If you look at the love that was put into all the details, a tiny screw below the ball would have been more appropriate for Rosy! |

I've opened one before, but it was a long time ago... You might be able to unscrew the ball (or the ball and aluminum tube might unscrew)... Or maybe remove the little square piece of plastic around it some how... I'd have to actually open one again to remember (and they are in storage right now...).
It's possible they glued it on last after assembly though. I wouldn't try too hard, don't want to break it. But if it is glued, and it comes loose, you can always glue it back on.
I'll try the next time I get to mine, but it won't be anytime soon most likely...

which game are you trying to fix? I might have some spare parts that you can use/have.

I was just interested in the internals, but it does have a crack in the fresnel screen BTW. It is the same for the Space Galaxy and Astro Vader I believe. |
