I was the high bidder on the Colorvision, e-mailed the seller and asked how much his reserve was as I may have been still interested and he said $500, so don't bother with this seller as he's obviously getting himself on. |

Yeahh, he did come across as a bit of a nutter when he responded to me with the shipping quote to Australia. I gave up as soon as I got his shipping quote as I previously posted. Here it is again:
"Hi Victor,
First, all items are shipped from Canada, not from the US. So shipping Xpresspost? - International 7 business days
to Australia is $167.33. If you want it Priority? Worldwide, the price is $288.68. Both Xpresspost & Priority have
insurance (up to $100 included and have a tracking number). The lowest shipping price is $91.89 by International
Parcel - Surface (which takes about 8 weeks to ship) and has only insurance up to $100, no tracking number.
If you have other question(s), don't hesitate to ask them. Thanks!"
I already have 2 of these Colorvision's , one boxed , one loose I got 2 weeks ago for $15. Here it is here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180....._500wt_898

Hi.
That's the highest shipping quote I've ever heard. Insane! Is me mailing a full size piano along with it?!

Adventure Vision bargain or scam, hopefully the former.
The photo was stock photo of the net and the guy did have Zero feedback. I'm guessing perhaps a member here bought it (not me), so Id be keen to hear how this turns out.

P.S Thanks Rik for your feedback to my PM's. |

Heh, surprised it sold so fast... Maybe someone got some info from the seller, or just doesn't mind taking a risk... Photo stolen from another web site, dodgy description, no information about missing parts, eBay account that was created yesterday...
Everything about it just screams 'proceed with caution'. Unless someone got some info from the seller first... Did he ever even respond to your messages?
I'm still trying to decide if it's guaranteed to be worth $500... Say it's trashed, it apparently has scratches and marks drawn on it from the description and only works 'rather well' (which suggests there is something minor wrong with it). Assume the worst: control panel artwork scratched completely off (I've seen that a lot on used games), battery cover and side cover missing, corrosion in the battery compartment (possibly only working on AC power). Is that still worth $500? Not sure what people still pay for used ones of these... In decent shape still around $800ish I think, so maybe in poor shape it's still an okay deal... And there is the chance it looks fairly decent...
Guess we'll have to wait and see what feedback shows.... Unless the buyer is here and wants to fess up! |

I didn't get a reply from him, could be because it was sold so there was no point for him to.
I have a feeling the buyer might be a member here , just a hunch based on the amount of feedback they have and the alias a**8 looks familiar. Hopefully it's ligit, I hate to see anyone go through the hastle of a dodgy seller.
I once bought a DS Lite from ebay in a similiar situation, the guy was selling 10 of them new for cheap. As soon as they all sold , he closed his ebay account and was gone. Fortunately Paypal refunded the money from Paypal's own account (as the guy had taken the money and run). |

Yeah, with eBay's Buyer Protection it's not much of a risk in the end.
Hey, another Entex Black Knight has shown up! Still no box though!

Also, the dimwits listed it as "new", bet you could get a partial refund after winning it by complaining it's Not As Described! |

Well, if you actually get the game, and it's fairly trashed (but kind-of-sort-of works), then you might be stuck with it, since that matches everything in the description... (If you read the description, it's obvious he's using a 'stock photo') I think that would be the biggest risk, but being an AV I suppose it might still be worth $500 even in that condition...
But I suspect it's probably just a well-used game that's been in storage for years...
Just depends on whether you want $500 of your money tied up for a couple of months dealing with PayPal claims. And the seller could still get the money anyway. If he removes the $500 from his account immediately, and then disappears, PayPal will never get it back (but they will still refund the buyer, so you'd still be safe). It's probably less common for people to try to scam this way though since it is hard to get away with it due to the buyer protection. |

We were puzzled about the King Kong in malfunctioning state for 399 euro, well a nice boxed one just went for 525. WOWies. THAT IS A LOT!

I won the "Caries en Danger" (Dig & Picman in France) in the same collector-selling-everything-mega-sale. Luckily no really heavy bidding on that one. |

Yeah, and that's on of the most common of the Tiger tabletops... Imagine what the others sell for... A boxed Jawbreaker or Space Invaders would probably clear $1000 easy...
Good snag on the Caries en Danger... Already have one or you'd have been fighting me... He had some really nice stuff though, seems like he was a collector that decided to sell of his stuff?

Guess it is the guy behind the book "Livre de jeux electronique". He has at least the same last name, and all games are featured in that book. |
