Hello everyone!!

I have a few questions, hopefully someone can help me out! While at my mother in laws today my son was playing with a hand held console... it's the Palmtex Super Micro and it had two games with it - React Attack and Aladdin's Adventures. We can't get it to turn on, we switched the batteries but neither one of us is extremely tech savvy lol Is the round black button on the side that you can turn supposed to do something? We're really hoping this works!

Thanks in advance!!

Yeah, the black knob controls the brightness/darkness of the display. The game requires light to work, unless you have the light attachment on the top (and it works)...

If you can put 2 batteries in the top, that's the light box for the game. You can also put 4 batteries in the bottom. (Those 4 are the important ones)

The power switch is the slider next to the R and A buttons on the inside (not the top of the game if you have the light box). With React Attack plugged in, it should make a couple of beeping noises immediately when you turn it on. If you aren't hearing that, there's a problem... If you do hear the sounds, the black knob on the bottom should allow you to adjust the display so it's really dark, but with a couple of squares visible. Push A and the display should change...

Kind of hard to explain tho... Cool But new batteries in the bottom of the game, and listen for sounds when turned on. First indicator of whether or not it works...

Also, keep in mind that this is a fairly rare game system, you are liable to get some offers to sell it, working or not...

Thanks, Rik!!

That makes sense! We did hear sounds but couldn't figure out why we couldn't see anything. The black knob was our biggest mystery!

I'm sure my mother in law would sell it if she got a nice offer. My son isn't that old (4) and has probably forgotten about it by now lol We just got him a Leapster so he's interested in anything he sees that looks like a game.

Thank you for all of your help! =)

another question (sorry!) we were looking at it and we're not sure if we have the light box?? Is it a seperate attachment? Is there anywhere on the site where there are pics that I could check out what the super micro looks like with all of the parts?

Yeah, it's pictured here:
http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Misc/PalmtexSuperMicro.htm

In the first pic, the thing with square silver part on the right is the light assy.

It makes the game look like almost like a pyramid when closed (it attaches to the cartridge). If you can hold the game up to light and see through the display, you don't have the light box (at least, it's not attached) (it also covers the name of the game on the cartridge). I'll try to get better pictures of the system.

ahhh I see, thank you!

My in laws remember seeing the light box but we couldn't find it today. They're going to check up in the attic probably this weekend. Hopefully it wasn't thrown out!

You've been a great help, I appriciate it!
